District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Christopher Lee Wieser (DOB 08/26/80), of Oak View, was sentenced to six years in state prison for three felony domestic violence charges.
A jury previously convicted Wieser on September 22, 2025, of inflicting corporal injury on a cohabitant, attempted aggravated mayhem, and assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury. Two special allegations were also found true: causing great bodily injury, and that the victim was particularly vulnerable.
On April 14, 2022, Wieser brutally assaulted the female victim during a series of violent attacks inside their home. He punched her causing her to lose consciousness and strangled her. He also broke a glass picture frame and used a piece of broken glass to scratch her cheek.
The violence continued into the next morning until the victim escaped the home, found help and reported the crimes. Wieser was arrested by Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies.
“This conviction reflects the victim’s remarkable courage and resilience in coming forward, cooperating with the prosecution, and testifying at trial,” said Senior Deputy District Attorney Emily Reber, who prosecuted the case. “The victim’s strength and bravery were essential to holding the defendant accountable for his acts of violence.”
