Ventura County District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced that Michael Samuel Weisman (DOB 07/14/93), of Oak Park, was arraigned on January 7, 2026, and entered a plea of not guilty to multiple felony charges stemming from threats made against his parents, law enforcement officers, and the public.
Weisman faces three felony counts of making criminal threats, one felony count of maliciously informing of a false bomb, two felony counts of attempting to prevent an executive officer from performing their duties, and misdemeanors for elder abuse and false reporting of an emergency.
Weisman also faces aggravating factors of the crime involving great violence and that the victims were particularly vulnerable.
On December 5, 2025, Weisman is accused of making multiple threats to harm himself, his parents, law enforcement officers, and members of the public. He allegedly threatened to kill his parents and responding deputies by striking them with his vehicle and further threatened to use his vehicle to harm innocent civilians.
Weisman also allegedly issued a bomb threat against a Thousand Oaks business that was open and occupied at the time, causing concern for the safety of employees and patrons. After making the threats, Weisman fled the area in his vehicle before later being located at a shopping center in the Agoura area, where he was detained and taken into custody.
Deputy District Attorney Heather Sweatman, a member of the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office General Trials Unit, is prosecuting the case.
Weisman is scheduled for an early disposition conference on February 6, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 37 of the Ventura County Superior Court. He is out of custody released on bond. The court ordered him to stay away from the business he threatened and all Conejo Valley and Oak Park Unified School District schools. Weisman’s driver’s license was also revoked.
