The Moorpark Police Station will be hosting a Citizen’s Academy beginning Wednesday, April 15th, 2026. This 10‑week course is designed to provide participants with an overview of the various units within the Moorpark Police Station and an opportunity for participants to engage local law enforcement professionals. I
n addition, participants will hear from investigators representing units throughout the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, traffic enforcement deputies, law enforcement explorers, members of the Moorpark Volunteers in Policing team and more.
The program will include guided tours of the Moorpark Police Station and one of the jail facilities operated by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
Participants must be at least 18 years of age, have no felony convictions, and no misdemeanor convictions within one year of applying. Enrollment is limited to 30 participants.
The course is free of charge and will be held every Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, beginning April 15th and concluding June 17th, 2026.
