Ventura has a new hot dog spot. Dave’s Dogs, the popular hot dog restaurant in Santa Barbara, has opened a second location on the Central Coast.

In a social media post, the restaurant announced that it held a car show at its new Ventura location on April 30, 2026.

Located outside the Pacific View Mall at 3301-E Main Street, Dave’s Dogs is currently in a soft opening phase and is preparing for a grand opening, according to its website.

In addition to the car show, the event included a raffle with prizes. The first 100 people were also rewarded with freebies from the restaurant.

Dave’s Dogs announced its upcoming arrival in Ventura in an Instagram post in February. The restaurant mentioned that the journey to opening the new location “hasn’t been easy” and that the grand opening date would be shared soon.

In March 2024, Dave’s Dogs said it was set to open a new location in Santa Maria. Ahead of its opening, the restaurant scheduled a pop-up event at the venue and invited people for a sneak peek of the new place.

In its February 2026 post, Dave’s Dogs clarified that the Santa Maria location was at a standstill and the restaurant team had yet to announce an official opening date.

“But it’s still in the works,” Dave’s Dogs said.

Not wanting to stop the growth momentum, the team decided to expand south and open in Ventura.

In addition to the Ventura location, Dave’s Dogs has a restaurant at 149 S Turnpike Road in Santa Barbara.

Dave’s Dogs serves a wide variety of hot dogs. Some of its menu items at its Santa Barbara location include Dave’s Style, Santa Barbara Style, BBQ Bacon, Classic Dog, Kraut Dog, Buffalo BBQ Dog, Chicken Tender Basket, and Korean Style Corn Dog.

The restaurant also serves a range of sandwiches, including the California classic, chipotle chicken sandwich, No-Moo (veggie) burger, and mudslide chili burger, along with a selection of sides, including fries, tater tots, onion rings, cheese fries, and a chili cup.

The hot dogs and sandwiches can be paired with drinks like sodas and apple juice, and with desserts like deep-fried Oreos and chamoy gummies.

About Dave’s Dogs

Dave’s Dogs started in 2014 as a small hot dog cart on Milpas Street in Santa Barbara. Looking to escape the mundane routine of an office job, owner Dave envisioned opening a place that would offer flavorful hot dogs enhanced with unique and imaginative toppings.

Owner Dave began by selling just six hot dogs on his first night. The cart, however, attracted more customers and gained local attention.

Dave opened his first brick-and-mortar eatery in Santa Barbara in 2017. The restaurant has been featured in several TV shows and won awards.

In addition to the restaurants, Dave’s Dogs also offers catering services for parties and corporate events.
