A new cafe has opened in midtown Ventura, bringing diversity to the local food scene ahead of the festive season.

Buena Bodega has opened on 1803 E Main Street, offering a selection of coffees, breakfast items, lunch, and soft serve options.

The store held a soft opening on December 16, 2025, and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to its Instagram page.

We’ve got stocking stuffers and gifts for foodies, as well as a condensed menu of breakfast, lunch, coffee and soft serve options (also for foodies). See you soon, pals!!” it said in the post.

Buena Bodega’s Offerings

Describing itself as a “specialty market, bottle shop, cafe, and eatery,” the cafe has partnered with Dune Coffee in Santa Barbara, Buena Bodega said in a December 9 post on Instagram.

Buena Bodega will host its first “Social Club series,” on December 23, 2025, it said in an update.

“We’re rolling out some later hours and an easy excuse to shop, mingle, and sip on something nice,” Buena Bodega said in another post

Customers can expect wine and beer by the glass, non-alcoholic beverages, along with snack options.

“It’s the perfect chance to knock out last-minute Christmas gifts. Gift boxes and wrapping are on us,” Buena Bodega added.

The store will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Tuesday through Sunday, and will serve its usual breakfast and lunch menu from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Retail will be available through the day, while special bar snacks and adult beverages will be served from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., the post added.

Buena Bodega Aimed For Early December Launch

The owners of the cafe had been sharing updates on the cafe since January 2025.

In an update on February 16, 2025, Buena Bodega shared an image of the under-construction cafe and said it would serve “gourmet pantry goods, grab-and-go essentials, and specialty beverages,” such as wine, beer, cider, sodas, and non-alcoholic drinks.

“In the back, we will be cooking up some fresh market salads, whole grain bowls, toasts, bagels, soft serve, dirty sodas, and more,” the post added.

The cafe had been aiming to open in early December, but had to delay the opening by some days, according to its Instagram updates.
