A vehicle fire spread into nearby vegetation Sunday afternoon near Lake Nacimiento prompting a full response from CAL FIRE/San Luis Obispo County Fire.
Crews were dispatched at approximately 12:48 p.m. on May 10 to the the 8000 block of Chimney Rock Road, west of Nacimiento Lake Drive.
The incident was initially estimated at about 0.4 acres, officials said. As resources responded, the vegetation fire grew to an estimated 5 to 10 acres.
CAL FIRE asked the public to avoid the area and watch for emergency personnel and equipment. Chimney Rock Road was closed between Lake Nacimiento Drive and Adelaide to accommodate firefighting operations.
By 2:40 p.m., CAL FIRE reported that forward progress of the fire had been stopped. No additional details, including any injuries or damage to structures, were immediately available.
