A vehicle fire on northbound Highway 101 near Wadsworth Avenue shut down all lanes late Wednesday morning before officials fully reopened the highway, authorities said.
CAL FIRE/San Luis Obispo County Fire reported the incident at approximately 9:39 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, and said crews quickly responded and mitigated the fire.
All apparatus and personnel have cleared the scene, and the highway is fully open.
The California Highway Patrol initially warned of a crash blocking lanes and later announced all northbound lanes were closed due to the vehicle fire, urging drivers to expect delays and use alternate routes. In a final update, CHP said all northbound lanes had reopened and advised motorists to watch for residual traffic in the area.
No additional details were immediately released. Officials thanked drivers for their patience and cooperation.
