Tent City Beer Company, a longtime craft brewery and pub in Atascadero, has closed its doors.

After serving patrons for 13 years, Tent City Beer Company said in a social media update that it closed operations on December 21, 2025.

In its farewell message, Tent City Beer Company wished customers a Merry Christmas and invited them to “have one last beer” before closing.

“Thank you for supporting us over the last 13 years. It has been a blessing and we have met some amazing people,” the brewery wrote on Instagram on December 20, 2025.

The pub did not share a reason behind its closure.

Located at 6760 El Camino Real, Tent City Beer Company was founded by longtime friends who aimed to create a community space centered around American craft beer, according to Visit Atascadero

The brewery’s menu included five house beers, as well as craft beer from local and nationwide boutique breweries, Visit Atascadero added.

In addition to the indoor seating area, Tent City Beer Company also offered an outdoor seating area with a food truck.

The pub also hosted musical performances and other events.

The business had a 4.5-star rating on Yelp, where reviewers appreciated the variety of beers on offer and the service.

New Businesses Set to Open in Atascadero

While Tent City Beer Company closes its doors, Atascadero is set to welcome more food and beverage outlets in the new year.

Garden City Market is preparing to open at 6755 El Camino Real, near the Sunken Gardens in downtown Atascadero, early this year.

Owned by husband and wife duo, Tom and Rebecca Nearing, the general store will be a mixed-use community space with a “curated general store, grab-and-go food offerings, and local vendor partnerships,” according to Garden City Market’s social media update on November 4, 2025.

Meanwhile, Chick-fil-A is also considering opening in Atascadero and has submitted a concept plan for a proposed restaurant near the north end of the city, within the Home Depot shopping center.

The proposed restaurant will be located near the corner of El Camino Real and San Ramon Road, adjacent to the SpringHill Suites Hotel, giving it convenient access along the Highway 101 corridor.

The project is in the early stages of the City of Atascadero’s development review process.

City officials said the proposal reflects continued interest from established businesses in expanding dining options and investing in Atascadero.

“A project like this not only enhances local dining options but also supports continued economic growth and job creation in our city,” said City Manager Jim Lewis. The city continues to register “strong interest” from quality businesses, he added.
