On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, San Luis Obispo Police officers were dispatched to High Street Deli at 350 High Street for the report of vandalism. Officers found extensive vandalism throughout the outdoor patio of the business. A blue marker had been used to write on the outdoor tables and signs. The damage was estimated to be in excess of $7000.
The business provided officers with surveillance camera footage that showed a male writing on the patio furniture. The male was identified as Benjamin Weldon, who uses the moniker “Gucci $killet”.
A second report was received later that day of similar vandalism that was found at Lincoln Deli, 496 Broad Street with damage estimated at $1000.
Weldon was located near downtown at approximately 11:15 pm Tuesday evening and arrested for PC 594(b)(1) – Felony vandalism.
