The City of San Luis Obispo is proud to announce that the SLO Swim Center has been awarded First Place for Best Water Park/Pool Complex on the Central Coast in the Tribune’s Best of the Central Coast 2026 awards. The category included aquatic facilities spanning the entire central coast region, from Paso Robles all the way to Lompoc, making this year’s top recognition especially meaningful.
The award highlights the Swim Center’s commitment to delivering high-quality aquatic experiences, inclusive programs, and year‑round community service.
The SLO Swim Center is more than a pool, it’s a year-round community hub that blends high-quality aquatics, inclusive programming, and a strong public-service mission. As one of the only year-round, outdoor public aquatic facilities on the Central Coast, its heated pools provide reliable access for lap swimming, lessons, therapy, and team use. Publicly owned and community-focused, the Swim Center serves families, seniors, competitive teams, and participants in adaptive and therapeutic programs, creating a welcoming, multigenerational space. It also plays a vital public-safety role through learn-to-swim and water-safety programs led by trained staff who emphasize confidence, technique, and fun. The SLO Swim Center brings fitness, safety, and community together year-round for the public good.
