The City of San Luis Obispo will bring back SLO Restaurant Month for a second consecutive year in January, offering residents and visitors a month-long celebration of the city’s dining scene while supporting local restaurants during a traditionally slower season.
According to an announcement on December 29, 2025, SLO Restaurant Month will run from January 1 through January 31, 2026. Participating restaurants across the city will offer a range of specials aimed at diners with varying budgets, and customers can enter for a chance to win a $250 gift card each time they dine.
Four gift card winners will be selected at random each week, giving diners multiple chances to win by supporting local restaurants throughout the month.
The event will feature prix-fixe menus, happy hour deals, and discounted items, giving diners opportunities to try new restaurants or revisit familiar favorites.

Participating restaurants include 15 Degrees C Wine Bar & Restaurant, Black Sheep Bar & Grill, Bon Temps Creole Café, Condesa, Lure Fish House, Madonna Inn, Oak Grill at Hotel Cerro, Typhoon, WineSneak, among others.
City officials said the program is designed to encourage dining during a period when restaurants typically experience reduced traffic following the holiday season, while offering diners flexibility and choice across a wide range of cuisines.
Local businesses have welcomed the program’s return. Condesa, one of San Luis Obispo’s newer dining spots, is participating as a way to introduce its cuisine to a broader audience.
Condesa owner Misty Orman said the restaurant is proud to take part in the initiative and views it as an opportunity to connect its Mexican cuisine with the wider community.
The city is also continuing its partnership with longtime local broadcaster Adam Montiel, who will collaborate with restaurant teams on their special menus and highlight participating eateries and offerings on his podcast, Up + Adam.
“We’re so excited to bring SLO Restaurant Month back to the community this year,” said SLO City Manager Whitney McDonald, noting that the initiative supports local businesses while giving diners access to special offers.
According to City data, last year’s SLO Restaurant Month coincided with a 4% year-over-year increase in restaurant sales tax revenue, outperforming both county and state trends during the same period.
With a month of dining specials, prizes, and community-focused promotions, city leaders say SLO Restaurant Month’s goal is to strengthen connections between residents and local restaurants while encouraging exploration of the city’s culinary scene.
