Night street improvements are expected to begin near Higuera and High Streets this week.

Check out what we have going on in the upcoming weeks as we continue to make progress on our ongoing neighborhood enhancement projects aimed at making our city safer, more accessible, and better connected.

Work to upgrade and add more safety improvements to key streets and intersections is still underway.

  • Various locations: We expect to continue street and sidewalk repairs throughout the City in areas where we completed utility work. To minimize traffic impacts during the day, we anticipate doing some of this work at night as early as next week. Commuters can expect traffic delays, rolling traffic, and lane shifting as construction crews work in each area.

  • Los Osos Valley Road: We expect to begin tree trimming on Los Osos Valley Road between Madonna Road and Auto Park Way towards the end of the week. To minimize traffic impacts during the day, we anticipate working from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Commuters can expect lane shifting and residents will still have access to surrounding businesses and residential areas.

Work to upgrade vital groundwork to enhance the reliability, capacity, and safety of our water and sewer system is underway. See what areas we’re working on below.

Higuera Street: We expect to continue installing monitoring wells for the next couple of months at different locations on Higuera Street from Los Osos Valley Road to High Street to help track the condition of the City’s groundwater. Areas where monitoring wells have been installed include:

  • Zaca Lane
  • Auto Park Way

Work includes drilling the holes to later install the rigs. Commuters can expect minor traffic delays due to no parking in the areas and shoulder closures.

Righetti Community Park: We’ll be continuing on-site foundational work such as grading. Community members can expect typical construction noise, along with vehicles and equipment moving in and out of the area. Pedestrians can expect sidewalk closures with detours. Standard construction hours will be 7 a.m.– 4 p.m.

Mission Plaza Enhancement: Finishing touches like landscaping work and small outstanding items are continuing for the project at the Mission Plaza. The new restrooms are open to the public. Commuters can expect little to no traffic delays in the area. Pedestrians can now access the sidewalk in the area with little to no detours.

  • Paving during nighttime at the intersection of Vachell Lane and S. Higuera Street to improve the surface of the road.
  • Utility work on Tiburon Way near the Ranch House Road roundabout as part of the Righetti Community Park.

Please keep an eye out for orange cones and active construction sites and remember to:
