Check out what we have going on in the upcoming weeks as we continue to make progress on our ongoing neighborhood enhancement projects aimed at making our city safer, more accessible, and better connected.

Work to upgrade and add more safety improvements to key streets and intersections is still underway. We expect to continue work in the areas below.

  • Tank Farm Road: We expect to begin grinding and paving work as early as next week from Wavertree Street to Righetti Ranch Road as we make our way towards Broad Street. We’ll be working on one side of the road at a time and will maintain traffic flowing in two directions. We expect to be in this area for a couple of weeks before working on the next segment of the road. Commuters can expect traffic delays due to flagging, lane closures and shifting. Please drive carefully through the work zone, plan for extra travel time, and share this information with your neighbors.

  • Sacramento Drive: We plan to begin utility work and temporary striping from Industrial Way to Via Esteban. Commuters can expect minor traffic delays due to flagging and lane shifting. Two-way traffic is expected to be maintained throughout the duration of the work. Work is anticipated to take place during standard construction hours from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Monterey Street: We plan to continue sidewalk replacement between Osos and Santa Rosa Streets. Work is anticipated to last a couple weeks, and commuters can expect minor traffic impacts due to construction vehicles in the area. Pedestrians can expect sidewalk closures with detours and access to businesses in the area will remain open.
We are about 90% complete with the Mission Plaza Enhancement Project. Work will continue on site, as we wrap up paving around the area. Commuters can expect minor traffic delays due to construction trucks entering and leaving the area on Monterey Street between Broad and Palm Streets. Pedestrians can expect sidewalk closures with detours.

We are continuing sidewalk and street restoration work as part of the Cultural Arts District Parking Garage. During construction, commuters can expect a closure of Nipomo Street from Dana Street to Palm Street as well as Palm Street from Broad Street to Nipomo Street with detours provided. Work is expected to last a few weeks and is estimated to take place from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. but the road closure is expected to be 24/7.
