Travelers are advised to plan ahead and expect delays in Pismo Beach from Friday, May 29 through Sunday, May 31, due to increased traffic associated with the 40th Annual Pismo Beach Classic Car Show and ongoing construction for the Five Cities Project.
On Friday, May 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., construction delays may occur along Price Street from the downtown area north to Mattie Road. Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time, follow posted signs and flaggers, and consider alternate routes when possible.
Construction crews will work to minimize delays and maintain traffic flow as much as possible. Bicycle and pedestrian access will remain available during construction.
Non-construction delays may include Highway 101 offramps and downtown local road closures during the event weekend.
Visitors are encouraged to continue supporting local businesses, restaurants, hotels, and shops during the event. Access to Pismo Beach will remain open, though delays are to be expected.
