The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has released hundreds of viewer complaints about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show, revealing complaints over a performance widely hailed as a milestone for Latin music and Puerto Rican culture on one of America’s biggest stages.

The complaints largely allege inappropriate language and suggestive dancing. In a February review, however, the FCC found the songs’ lyrics had been appropriately altered for broadcast standards.

Of the 545 complaints reported to the FCC, 34 came from California, including several from the Central Coast.

“The NFL halftime show was very inappropriate for children. Bad bunny’s lyrics talked about rape and were dishusting [sic] toward women. There was also curse words used on live public tv,” wrote a resident of Paso Robles.

An Atascadero resident wrote, “Completely inappropriate half time show. Kids were present. There was language and inappropriate dancing and acting. Absolutely not acceptable.”

A Greenfield resident added, “I did not appreciate the superbowl halft time show. I speak spanish fluently and did not understand a word of what bad bunny said. Also the sex acts between two males my kids were watching do better. Can we keep everything PG. im very dissapointed [sic].”

The backlash echoed criticism from President Donald Trump, who called the show “one of the worst EVER!” on social media, adding, “Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World.”

Bad Bunny’s set—performed largely in Spanish—drew far more praise from viewers and cultural commentators who framed it as a landmark moment for Latino representation in mainstream American entertainment.

  1. What were the specific “curse words?” There was no sex, just dancing.

These same, woefully stupid and uneducated people clap and cheer for a drug abusing racist who has songs about raping underage women.

Then again, they approve of that if you’re white.

Truly the worst, dumbest people are dragging our nation down. I’d like to say their generation is soon ending, but we seem to have a resurgence of idiocy amongst young, dumb males now.

  2. How many millions watched the show? And 545 complaints….such a joke. Looks like we are turning into the kind of country where everyone secretly laughs at anything that comes from official government sources.
