Coast Nissan in San Luis Obispo County has permanently closed its dealership on Los Osos Valley Road, ending decades of service in the community.

The dealership at 12150 Los Osos Valley Road, a fixture in the Central Coast community for decades, is now closed. It posted the closure notice on its official website, without providing a reason for the decision.

Coast Nissan Offered Diverse Inventory

Coast Nissan directed customers to other Cardinale Automotive Group locations for vehicle servicing and warranty work following the closure. Alternative locations include BMW of San Luis Obispo and Porsche San Luis Obispo, while Nissan maintenance will be available at other affiliated dealerships in the Cardinale network.

For years, Coast Nissan operated as a full-service dealership, providing new and used vehicles, financing options, and ongoing maintenance services.

The dealership offered a diverse inventory, including sedans, SUVs, and trucks, establishing itself as a full-service automotive center.

Coast Nissan also provided financing and leasing options to suit different customer needs, and its service department handled routine maintenance and repairs, remaining a reliable resource for local vehicle owners.

Nissan Faces Sales Decline in US

The closure comes at a time when Nissan is experiencing a slowdown in its U.S. market performance. The automaker reported a 7.5% year-over-year decline in total U.S. sales during the first quarter of 2026.

Sedan sales were hit hardest, dropping 37.7%, reflecting a broader shift in consumer preference toward SUVs and crossovers amid increased competition in the automotive market.

Drivers in San Luis Obispo and nearby communities, including Morro Bay, Paso Robles, and Pismo Beach, will now need to use other dealerships in the Cardinale network for vehicle service and support.

Longstanding Coast Nissan was known as a community-focused dealership serving California’s Central Coast. The dealership offered new, used, and certified pre-owned vehicles, along with customer-focused services designed to encourage long-term engagement. Operations combined sales and after-sales support in a single location.

The closure marks a shift in the local dealership landscape as businesses adapt to changing market conditions and consumer demand.
