On Friday, April 10, 2026, at 10:47 pm, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Valecito for a report of a disorderly situation. Before officers arrived, the reporting party informed dispatch that she and her boyfriend, who had been drinking, got into an argument that became physical. The boyfriend had left the property, and she believed he had guns in his possession.
One of the officers on duty contacted the suspect by phone, later identified as Travis Pease, age 35, who had walked away from the property. It was unconfirmed if Pease had weapons with him and in an abundance of caution, a Reverse 911 alert was sent out to nearby residents to shelter in place.
Through continued conversation with Pease, the officer was able to determine he was walking up Prefumo Canyon Road and relayed that information to other responding officers. Pease was located a short time later and detained.
Officers located several firearms and brass knuckles in Pease’s car that was parked at the Valecito home. Further investigation determined that Pease had pushed the female several times, prevented her from leaving the house, and poured juice and gasoline on her car. Pease was arrested on the following charges and booked into SLO County jail:
PC 236 – Felony false imprisonment with force
PC 594(b)(1) – Felony vandalism
PC 243 (e)(1) – Misdemeanor domestic battery
PC 21819 – Misdemeanor possession of brass knuckles
Pease is being held with no bail, which means he is not being offered the opportunity to bond out of custody at this time.
