    Local Parks with BBQs

I'm looking to host a birthday party at one of Santa Barbara's beautiful parks, but I'd like advice from edhatters about which park would be the best fit? It's an adult party and we'd like to BBQ so someplace that has built in BBQs or where we're allowed to bring our own. Tucker's Grove, Shoreline, Rocky Nook? Where do you all recommend?

Are there any podcasts for, or by, Senior Citizens in Santa Barbara County? I'm new at this and haven't listened to any but I think it would be interesting. I would appreciate any guidance, please.

    New Year's Eve Celebrations?

Edhat readers are curious to know where the best New Year's Eve celebrations will be throughout town. Below are their questions

    • A few friends and I are looking for a place to go for New Years to dance or listen to music. The catch is that we're OLD (58-62) so we don't want to go to a bar that's geared for the college crowd. Prefer a place where the entertainment starts like at 8, otherwise we'll fall asleep before we get out the door. Is there such a place in Santa Barbara or Goleta?

Recommendations for best SB Santa? Does anyone know whether the La Cumbre Santa will be the same as last year?  Did anyone else have a negative experience with him last year?

Is there a Santa in town that you would recommend this year?

    Internet Television Options

I'm fed up with the fees and recurring price increases from Cox Communications (seriously, why great deals for new customers while current customers keep getting gouged?). So I'm seriously considering closing it altogether, except for keeping the internet since we need it. I have a friend who has tried and likes Sling Tv (or any other internet television option) and I'm curious if any other edhat readers have tried it and what their thoughts are? Also, what speed or level of internet service would be needed for this?

    Piano Referral

Does anyone know of a location where an experienced pianist (classical, 10+ years) can get some practice time in?  I just want to play around….I recently moved and had to sell my piano, now my heart and soul aches to play.  Any ideas?  Since we’re on this note (pun intended), can anyone recommend an instructor who does not charge $100 an hour for a lesson?  Thank you!
