Does anyone have a referral for a reliable plasterer to do a small stucco patch?

Don't know what you mean by "small," but agree that some jobs can be done by one's self. Textured stucco patch is readily available, either in powder form or pre-mixed and ready to spread. If you're patching a crack, gouging it out a little and laying in self-adhesive mesh tape, usually about 1" wide, will help hold the patch in place and prevent a crack from simply re-appearing.

I highly recommend Steve Pepper Plastering. He did major stucco repairs on my home. He did what he said he would do for the price quoted. There were some problems along the way, but Steve stood behind his work.

Is there anything that some snarky person on Edhat can't turn into a controversy? Honestly y'all.

Any home repair guy can do a small stucco patch. Won't be worth it to as a big shop. But you could call a large shop like Specialty Team Plasters in SB, respectfully tell them you have a very small job, and ask if any of their guys want to do a side job. They know who is looking for side jobs and they might pass you number to one of their guys.

JDogg, welcome to the real world. A big shop, or just about anyone with a contractors license, won't even send out an estimator for a small job. You'd be lucky to get a moonlighter from Specialty for what should be a less than $100 job. For a small stucco job find a neighborhood kid.

Totally, call a big shop like specialty and have them send out some unlicensed dude with no insurance or workers comp and support the underground economy. Sounds perfect.
