New Year’s Eve Celebrations?

Edhat readers are curious to know where the best New Year’s Eve celebrations will be throughout town. Below are their questions

  • A few friends and I are looking for a place to go for New Years to dance or listen to music. The catch is that we’re OLD (58-62) so we don’t want to go to a bar that’s geared for the college crowd. Prefer a place where the entertainment starts like at 8, otherwise we’ll fall asleep before we get out the door. Is there such a place in Santa Barbara or Goleta?

  • Any places to celebrate NYE in SB that doesn’t have a cover?

  • Are there establishments in Goleta with New Year’s parties or would we have to travel to Santa Barbara?

What do you think?

  1. The Hotel Californian has a public parking lot. They try to prevent the public from using it by saying it’s for hotel guests or frustrating the public by making it impossible to get in. – They make you jump through hoops to get a ticket. Took me 3 minutes last week to get in when it should have take 10 seconds. – If someone says there isn’t parking have someone walk into the parking structure to confirm there are no parking places available or wait until some leaves. It beats driving around for parking. The hotel was required to build the parking structure and offer it on a first come first serve basis, at the same rates as the rest of the City parking structures, but the Hotel Californian wants to use it solely for valet and hotel guests only.
