Our second city-wide Beautify Goleta Community Cleanup is this Saturday, May 21st from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Being a part of this event is fun and easy! Grab your buckets, gloves, a good pair of walking shoes, and pick one of the four participating locations to join. Volunteers will get a FREE Beautify Goleta t-shirt (while supplies last!) and basic cleaning supplies will be available if you do not have your own. Sign up to volunteer ahead of time at https://cityofgoleta.org/BeautifyGoleta.

Locations:

  • *Neighborhood Spotlight – Dos Pueblos / El Encanto: Meet at Dos Pueblos High School Upper Parking Lot (Cathedral Oaks Road & Alameda Avenue); Community Cleanup from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and Bulky Item Drop Off 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • South Old Town: Meet at 9:00 a.m. sharp at S. Kellogg Avenue & Kellogg Way
  • Marketplace: Meet at 9:00 a.m. sharp at Phelps Road Parking Lot (Cannon Green Drive and Phelps Road)
  • Adopt-A-Park Jonny D. Wallis Neighborhood Park: Meet at 9:00 a.m. sharp at 170 S. Kellogg Ave; Featuring a woodchip project!

As the Neighborhood Spotlight location, extra cleanup volunteers from the Goleta Evening Rotary Club will be in the Dos Pueblos/El Encanto area helping to pick up trash. In addition, residents in these neighborhoods will have access to a FREE Bulky Item Drop Off Service. Dos Pueblos High School’s upper parking lot will serve as both the meetup location for cleanup volunteers and as the site for Bulky Item Drop Off. While all cleanups are from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., the Bulky Item Drop Off part of the event is from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

The City would like to thank Dos Pueblos High School, MarBorg, and Big Green Cleaning for their event support. We are also thankful to our returning cleanup volunteers and are excited to have Habitat for Humanity of Southern Santa Barbara County, Goleta Presbyterian Church, and the Winslowe Community join us for this event.

Thank you for helping us keep Goleta healthy and beautiful! If you are unable to make this event, save the date for our next Beautify Goleta Community Cleanup on July 30. Learn more about this program here.
