Woman Rescued After Falling Near Ellwood Pier

Santa Barbara County firefighters rescued a woman who fell 30 feet over the cliff near Ellwood Pier on Friday evening.

At 5:43 p.m., rescue crews arrived on the scene in Goleta with a ground ambulance and found a middle-aged woman on the rocks below the cliff near the waterline.

A technical rope system was quickly put into place to access the patient and bring her to the top of the cliff as the tide was coming in. She was then transported to the hospital with an injury to her extremity.
