Woman Arrested for Burglary of Direct Relief International Building
Update by Santa Barbara Police Department
April 6, 2021
The previously released incident (April 5, 2021), which led to the arrest of a burglary suspect, was discovered when a Santa Barbara Airport Police sergeant was patrolling the properties north of the airport and observed lights inside of the Direct Relief building. Recognizing this to be unusual, he investigated further. The Sergeant contacted a truck driver in the parking lot who described a female exhibiting unusual behavior, who left in the direction of the Direct Relief building. The sergeant discovered broken glass and requested additional law enforcement to assist. This preliminary investigation led to the discovery of a burglary in progress, and subsequent arrest of Victoria Zhou (DOB 6-21-99).

Apr 05, 2021 04:40 PMRoger - PD officer reported a female was in the building yelling, "a few moments later she surrendered." Based on what you reported what leads you to believe "the female was having an emotion breakdown" and "probably didn't know where she was at?"

Apr 05, 2021 06:20 PMAlways looking for the negative? We can't just accept that someone has a mental health issue without looking for some self centered motive? This is the dark side of humanity.

Apr 06, 2021 07:34 PM-2056, How do we know from this story that the suspect had a mental health issue? I don't see on what one might base that idea.
