Woman Airlifted to Hospital After Rollover Collision

A woman was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital after a single vehicle rollover collision in Santa Maria early Friday evening.

At 5:10 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded with Santa Maria City Fire Department, AMR ambulance, and California Highway Patrol to Black Road and Mahoney Road. They found a vehicle on its roof with female driver estimated to be in her 30’s trapped inside, said Fire Captain Dave Zaniboni. 

The driver complained of major injuries and required extrication by the firefighters. She was transported by a CALstar helicopter to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. 

California Highway Patrol and Santa Maria Police Department are investigating the cause of this accident.
