Witness Tree Loses a Limb

By Holazola
I just drove by and noticed a huge limb broke off the witness tree in the courtyard of the old sizzler building.
Here is a link to some tree history by Tom Modugno: https://goletahistory.com/the-witness-tree/
According to Tom, it is a "centuries old sycamore tree that has witnessed the change of Goleta from bean fields and dairy farms to concrete and traffic jams."

Mar 27, 2020 02:29 PMMy wife's late grandfather grew up in then-rural Goleta. Every day on their walk to/from school, the neighborhood boys would stop to take a leak on that tree.
