Barbara Edelston Peterson formally launches Whole Champion Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization that aims to ignite positive change one person at a time by advocating awareness, responsibility and action.

Whole Champion Foundation is a non-profit educational platform providing resources, guidance, and tools through digital and physical channels to create momentum in people of all ages and from all walks of life, to help make the world a better place. The focus is on personal, social and environmental responsibility. How change builds with personal well-being and moves outward to others and the environment is a primary emphasis. The organization’s programs aspire to support critical issues facing humanity and the physical world.

The organization’s unique message redefines the concepts of “whole” and “champion.” Whole refers to awareness, responsibility, and action. Champion is what happens when everyone steps up to help. The Foundation encourages a new global force capable of impacting real change.

According to the organization’s founder Barbara Edelston Peterson, “Wherever you call home, you can be a person who champions a better world. You can be someone who cares about others’ well-being. Someone who gives more than you take and makes a conscious effort to preserve the environment in any way you can.”

In response to the current global crisis, Whole Champion Foundation expedited its launch and has produced several practical, empowering tools immediately accessible to individuals and organizations on its website at www.wholechampion.org.

Online tools, guidance and resources are available free of charge, though donations are welcome and can be made at the website. These resources include:

·       Edelston Peterson’s new book A Whole Person Makes the Whole World Better, highlighting the Whole Champion philosophy through thought-provoking, actionable, inspiring pages

·       Workbooks (for use by students, parents, teachers, corporate leaders, etc.) to assess personal, social and environmental concerns and provide how-to steps for championing a better world

·       Index of global organizations steering global change, categorized by personal/social/environmental mission with a full description and clickable contact links

Whole Champion Foundation also offers consultation services, workshops, seminars, leadership development training, and custom Whole Champion guides for corporations, schools, athletic teams and other organizations.

To contact Whole Champion Foundation or for more information go to www.wholechampion.org. Also find it at www.facebook.com/wholechampionfoundation and www.instagram.com/wholechampion.

A Whole Champion is a whole person who makes the whole world better.

Thanks to the many who have noted that this is a suspect offer. It is not news. It is not a community benefit. And it is clearly for the egotistical and pecuniary benefit of the sponsor. Of course I expect our betters to remove this post along with the others I have offered criticizing this silliness.

Not to cast aspersions the outfit being promoted here but am I alone in thinking that among the plethora of non-profits in the area, there are organizations set up primarily to benefit the founders, serving primarily as personal fundraisers /job-for-self creators and tax shelters?

dang, it just gets worse. https://wholechampion.org/whole-champion-foundation/ Adopt a person with any $$ you'd spend on this crap! Your gardener, your housecleaner. Buy them groceries if you can't afford to pay their rent. GIVE CASH NOT GOODS. At least donate to local, well-known places who give food and grants, like SB Food Bank and the fund made by United Way (who I do not directly give to), Hutton Foundation and SB Foundation. https://www.sbfoundation.org/give-now/give-to-santa-barbara-county-covid-19-response-effort/

she wrote a book about bed rest; she had a difficult pregnancy. There are dozens of maternal health organizations she could be advertising and supporting! Nice she and I guess her baby lived through it. Millions worldwide don't. Why doesn't she want to help them?

I was immediately struck by how generic their mission statement is, and laughed out loud when I read: “The organization’s unique message…” Let me see if I may have missed something: “ignite positive change…advocating awareness, responsibility and action…create momentum…help make the world a better place…personal, social and environmental responsibility…personal well-being...the environment…support critical issues facing humanity and the physical world…awareness, responsibility, and action…a new global force capable of impacting real change…champions a better world…gives more than you take…preserve the environment…current global crisis…practical, empowering…thought-provoking, actionable, inspiring…personal, social and environmental concerns…global organizations steering global change…personal/social/environmental mission…a whole person who makes the whole world better.” Is that unique??? Sounds like the same old worn out platitudes to me.

Sigh. Yet another non-profit. I worked in non-profits much of my working life. (Including hospitals; don't decry me as useless.) I wish monies and efforts would to to already existing organizations!! Why do we need yet another one? Fine, you have a specific focus. It seem to me to be egotistical to push your "non-profit" interest. Just give time, effort and money to a well-established org that most reflects your interests.
