Just wondering when Caltrans is going to finish construction of Gaviota rest stops? It seems like it’s been shut down forever. I commute 4 days a week and never see anyone there, just containers, construction equipment, a few vehicles.
It is indeed closed most of the time. The “work” there just never seems to stop.
I can see it “reopening” for a few months and then closing down again for months and months.
The same on I15 to Vegas : both rest stops (on both sides) are always “closed for work” , and when you drive by you mostly NEVER see any work equipment or work crew there !
