Where do we get information on returning to our homes after being evacuated from Sunday?

Thanks to all firefighters, and you all.

When Can We Return Home?

I read somewhere they are expecting a minimum of another 2-3 days, winds tonight might push that back even further.

My info came directly from a county fire official. Areas east of Toro Canyon are in a pretty safe state right now. Crews have been performing “burn outs” that remove dangerous patches of unburnt fuel in the previously burnt zones. Local officials are ok with opening a bigger zone, but central command is not ready for that.

Mandatory evac in Carp area from east county line to Casitas Pass will be lifted at 10 am today (Fri. ). Carp and Summerland areas closer to Montecito are generally good fire-wise, but 192 is still being used as a supply corridor for the Montecito fire lines from staging area at Carp High. Let’s let the crews work!

I heard they are just letting some people back in Ventura. If you are in Carp or Montecito there is still a lot going on and with winds forecast to blow from the NW that's going to move the fire towards the SE or towards the densely populated areas along the coast. Be patient and you'll be given the green flag when it's safe.

When they lift the mandatory evacuation. If you are under mandatory which I assume you are.

If you're in the mandatory evacuation areas, especially in Montecito where the fires are active, you can't go back until they say you can. You'll have to wait unfortunately. They've got fire trucks everywhere up there.
