Is anyone else having trouble with their AT&T service lately? People in my neighborhood (downtown Santa Barbara) are having issues making calls, sending texts, or doing anything on 5G.
I’m wondering if this was just in our neighborhood or if it’s a widespread issue.
As a note, it’s performing slightly better today but earlier this week and this weekend it was almost unusable.
The issue began on Friday after a power outage in the Santa Barbara area around 1PM. Service directly affected a large swath of cellular coverage in the Santa Barbara area from around Las Positas all the way down to Summerland. The local AT&T stores posted signage in their windows stating that they were aware of the outage and that it is supposed to be fixed by this Wednesday. AT&T also has a new policy that went into effect January 1st, 2025, that for everyday there is an outage and for every device you have on your account, they will refund you $5 per device per day. Call and get your credits!
Started last Thursday for me, (3G barely works anyways), hadn’t noticed that the AT&T icon upper left wasn’t there (that should have been a tip off there was an issue, but not being there went right past me). I attempted the online check and it wouldn’t offer any info (even after entering my exact address) without “Logging in” (thanks AT&T?)? https://www.att.com/outages/
From past experience with their “Untrained Chat bots”, I know better than to attempt an answer online!
Monday I’d sent this link to family etc. telling that if they called I may not be able to answer;
Earth Day/birthday calls came in yesterday sporadically… Calls to/from the SB-VA clinic were failures!

Happy Birthday, Bicylist! 🙂
Same thing for me, bad since Friday. We have four accounts. Below are two AT&T telephone numbers, both are “Office of the President” people assigned to this matter:
858 522 8704 Chrystal Dun
858 522 8801 Jamie Wolf
There are at least two forms online at FCC.gov
https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=38824 (general cell issues).
https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/articles/115000914506-Emergency-Complaints. (no 911 service).
Problems with connections started on Sunday 4/20/25. After 3 tries: gave up. Thank for post; and EdHat reader for contact info.
Same problem in montecito.
