The Downtown Santa Barbara Improvement Association (DSBIA) invites residents and visitors to experience a week where history, rhythm, and artistry come alive. From the disco-fueled nostalgia of Mania: The ABBA Tribute to the primal sounds of the Folk Orchestra’s Medieval Concert, State Street will be pulsing with creative energy.

• Mighty Pilates Grand Opening (January 29–February 1, 3:30 PM): Free classes, ribbon cutting, and giveaways.
• “Layering” Exhibition at Art & Soul (On Display until February 1): Celebrate the Santa Barbara Fiber Arts Guild’s annual show featuring works from over 50 artists.
• 1st Thursday Art Walk (Thursday, February  5, 5:00 PM): Free access to galleries, live music, and wine tastings throughout downtown.
• 2026 Downtown Activation Mini-Grants: DSBIA is offering $250–$1,000 grants to fund creative, free public activations. Deadline: February 9. Submit to info@downtownsb.org.
• I Love My Library (February  1–14): Visit local businesses to sign a postcard supporting the Santa Barbara Public Library.
• 41st Santa Barbara International Film Festival (February 4–14): 11 days of world premieres, red carpets, and free community screenings.
• Valentine’s High Tea at Andersen’s Danish Bakery (February 1–15): Enjoy heart-shaped cookies, apple strudels, tea sandwiches, champagne, and more, every day after 2:00 PM.
• Jardin Nocturne Exhibition at Seimandi & Leprieur Gallery (On Display until February 21): Atmospheric paintings by French artist Dora Vital that explore light and shadow, curated by Jen Huang Bogan.
• “Jeff Bridges-Pictures” Exhibition at Tamsen Gallery (On Display until April 30): The first hometown exhibition of Academy Award-winner Jeff Bridges’ photography.
• “The Gift: New Additions to our Story” Exhibition at Santa Barbara Historical Museum (On Display until May 31): Highlighting community gifts that illuminate local history.
• “Ludmilla Pilat Welch: Serene Santa Barbara” Exhibition at Santa Barbara Historical Museum (On Display until May 31): Historic plein air renderings of Santa Barbara’s iconic adobes.
