These blossoms appeared on some "volunteers" (weeds) in my yard. They are exquisite. Does anyone know what they are?

What is this flower?

That flower is a Gloriosa superba, a vine that grows from a tuber. You are very lucky to have this volunteer in your garden, as it is not commonly grown.

Thank you. Unfortunately I rent, and the landlord's gardener just pulled them all out :-( . I'll let them know that perhaps that wasn't necessary--but maybe they can be invasive...

There's a pretty cool website and app called [email protected] You can take pictures or upload they and it will identify for you.

This one returned as Gloriosa superba L or a Climbing-lily

What is this flower?

It’s seriously toxic, nonbidenary, no joke.

What is this flower?

Wow! Just looked it up. I guess it's good it was removed.
