Yesterday, August 7, 2018 at 6:30 am, Sheriff’s deputies, along with American Medical Response and Santa Barbara County Fire responded to the 1200 block of N. San Marcos Road for a report of two subjects inside of a vehicle who were possibly unconscious. The two subjects were also observed with various types of drug paraphernalia in plain view within the vehicle. Sheriff’s personnel contacted Roxanne Belton and Gregory Anderson, both of Santa Barbara, and both declined medical attention. Several illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia were found within the vehicle.

A records check revealed Gregory Anderson of Santa Barbara had an active $20,000 drug-related arrest warrant out of Santa Barbara County. While conducting a vehicle search, additional drug paraphernalia indicating possible drug sales was located. Various ID cards, debit cards, passports, and social security cards were located inside the vehicle that did not belong to either Anderson or Belton. A large amount of collectible baseball cards, including a signed Nolan Ryan baseball card was located.

Belton and Anderson were booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for violation of Health and Safety Code Sections 11350 – Possession of an Illegal Drug, 11364 – Possession of Drug paraphernalia, 11377- Possession of Methamphetamine and 11378 – Possession of Illegal Drug for Sales. Anderson was also booked on the outstanding $20,000 arrest warrant. The miscellaneous property was booked for safekeeping.

This investigation is ongoing and the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office is requesting anyone who has information about the possible stolen property to call (805) 683-2724.
