The buildings in Santa Barbara destroyed by the earthquake in June 1925 made headlines all over the world, but plenty of homes and buildings survived with little or no damage. One was a home that had just been completed the day before the quake!
The home, located on E. Padre, is an attractive Spanish-style home made of stone, that looks almost the same a century later as it did in the ad in the local paper this month. It was built by stone mason Antonio Da Ros, and featured in the local paper in November 1925.
(Note: The home owners requested we remove their address. Please do not disturb the residents of this home.)

There’s a nice article about the Da Ros family of stone masons in the Independent (2-7-19).
While it won’t make your house earthquake proof, we can retrofit bolts that either were never installed, or have since rusted away. I’ve done this to hundreds of homes between here and Ventura.
