As the storm passed, Goleta residents awoke on Tuesday to views of waterfalls in the mountains above.

View of large white water waterfall high up in the mountains. Waterfall appears above an office building near the Los Carneros and Hollister area of Goleta. A City of Goleta City Hall direction sign appears in the foreground along with a stop sign.

Joe…. The waterfall you took a picture of is Mission falls located above the 7 falls but part of the same drainage. Tunnel trail goes across the fall. I have a clear view of it after a hard rain from my home. Beautiful pictures!

I "triangulated" the post storm falls photo and it appears to be Seven Falls.

I've read it's called Widows Tears Falls. See comments above with the yankeebarbareno website link for the source of that. It's almost due South (and slightly West) of Lizard's Mouth Rock at an elevation of about 550 meters (so about 370 meters lower than Lizard's Mouth). It's latitude and longitude are: 34.490957536424894, -119.87031650655199 degrees, resp. (the biggest part of the falls, anyway). Here's a video I took of them Jan 29, 2021: https://youtu.be/tSh2uMzTa4c

That waterfall appears to be in the Arroyo Burro or Jesucita watershed. Is that considered Goleta? I second Joe in requesting a precise topo map location.

The ledgendary Widow's Tear! Good to see it alive and well. A rare but stirring sight.

I took the "post storm" waterfall picture from East San Roque basically due north of here.
Can anybody share where the location of the falls may be? It's not Goleta.
Would settle a bet between my girlfriend and me!!!
THANK YOU!

Waterfalls of the Front Country

I remember the large storms in the 90's. I had an office window looking at this waterfall. At times there were several small waterfalls all around that area.
