After all our community has been through lately, we were delighted to see these beautiful traces of water in our mountains and the Valley. Red Rock's pond in the mostly dry Santa Ynez River's course through the Valley, evoked fond memories of years gone by. This stubborn little creek on our front range that has seemed to have at least some water amid the drought, was running clear and inviting.

Water!

I'd been curious how the drought looks, so was both pleasantly surprised and concerned seeing it from the air. After I'd sent these pix to Ed, a few minutes opened up in my day so I've just posted more watershed pix on SBitZ.NET including some of Gibraltar & Cachuma.

Water!

Beautiful photos, John Wiley. Thank you for posting. I like your SBitZ.NET site. Good addendum to Edhat.

Water!

I always enjoy your wonderful images from high above! We live in a beautiful place, and your photos show it. Since you mention watersheds, I created a "Santa Barbara Hydrology" section at the Internet Resources for Natural Phenomena Affecting Santa Barbara at SBitZ.net. People can navigate to stats on Lake Cachuma and rainfall to satisfy their curiosity. Hopefully we'll get more rain without sending down more mud into our neighborhoods.
