Volunteers Needed at Wildlife Care Network

Source: SBWCN

Volunteers make up an important part of the team at Santa Barbara Wildlife Care Network (SBWCN). Spring baby season is in full swing, and SBWCN is urgently looking for more volunteers during this busy time of year! There are two volunteer positions that are in critical need right now:

1. Animal Care Volunteers
Animal Care Volunteers assist with a variety of daily animal husbandry tasks for the patients at the facility. Duties include everything from preparing food to cleaning enclosures to feeding baby birds. The majority of these duties are physical in nature. With over 250 animals in care and more coming each day, every task significantly helps the animals and the team! One 4-hour shift per week is required for this position.

2. Transporter/Rescue Volunteers
Transport/Rescue Volunteers donate their time, effort, and vehicle to transport wildlife to and from our facility. SBWCN gets wildlife all the way from Santa Maria to Ventura, and transporters make it possible for every animal to receive the care it needs. Currently SBWCN is most in need of Transport/Rescue Volunteers in North Santa Barbara County. This position is on-call as needed.

As a nonprofit organization, SBWCN relies on volunteers to assist with the 4,000+ animals received every year. Both of these positions are incredible ways to be hands-on in the world of wildlife rehabilitation. Interested in volunteering?
