  1. SBCHD has been a disaster for a long time. It is almost always about “process” and rhetoric. SB may be the worst county in the state for distributing the vaccine. It is impossible to get an appointment unless you are very closely monitoring this stuff and then they claim that only X population is eligible despite general guidance that says, for example, that over 65 may be treated. Recently they had an scandalous experience through Marian Hospital in Santa Maria where they originally signed up anyone who registered, then told them they could not get a shot, they gave them a shot anyway when they showed up and even so had unfilled openings. Now they are restricting us to going to our “local” sites so people in Santa Barbara can’t Bogart a visit to Lompoc. While this may sound fair, it is not good if the Lompoc community doesn’t show up. etc. It is really badly managed. Minimally they should have a site where people can register with their demographic info and be notified when they can sign up and where.
