Views of the Falcon 9 Launch

By Stargazer Ron

On October 27 SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base during a glorious Santa Barbara Channel sunset. It was right on schedule at 6:14 pm with 53 Starlink satellites on board.

Amazingly, this particular Falcon 9 has completed 8 lift offs and landings so far. About a minute later it became visible in Santa Barbara as it turned southeast and climbed into orbit parallel to the coast.

Then, 3 minutes after that, a muffled rumble could be heard in Santa Barbara as a sliver of a crescent moon looked down on the scene.

SpaceX has sent over 3,500 satellites to the Starlink space network, providing Internet service around the world and this looked like another successful launch.
