Victim Identified in Fatal Vehicle Rollover Near Los Alamos

The Coroner’s Bureau is releasing the name of the decedent from the vehicle accident on 101 near Palmer Road on March 18, 2022.

The decedent is 19-year-old Vincent Bruce Becerra from Lompoc.

One person has died in a vehicle rollover near Los Alamos Friday night.

After 7:30 p.m., Santa Barbara County Firefighters responded to Highway 101 northbound, north of Palmer Road. 

Crews arrived and discovered the male driver of a vehicle was ejected and pronounced dead on arrival.

They determined the vehicle he was driving went up an embankment and overturned. Due to the speed of the car, there was a large debris field and traffic restrictions.

The identity of the driver has not been released. The cause of the collision is under investigation.

At 7:29 pm CHP logged a call of a vehicle rollover near Palmer Road south of Santa Maria. First unit on the scene was SBSD and reported one 11-44 at 7:33. A witness stated the vehicle was at extreme high speed prior to the collision, up to 120 mph in the opinion of the witness. According to County Fire it was a single-occupant who was ejected from the vehicle.

  1. They should have all drivers go through driver’s training again and not on a donkey and strict enforcement on all traffic infractions and this wouldn’t happen every four hours in Santa Maria it will save millions in Cal star helicopter medical flights simple solution
