A person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a stabbing early Friday in downtown Santa Barbara, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department.
Dispatch received a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at about 1:44 a.m. on March 6 in the first block of West Ortega Street.
Officers arrived to find a victim with multiple stab wounds, provided medical aid, and the victim was transported to Cottage Hospital, police said.
Officers searched the area but did not locate any suspects. Preliminary information indicates the attack was an isolated incident, and there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.
It is unknown at this time if the incident was gang-related.
