Vice President Kamala Harris to Visit Vandenberg Space Force Base

Vice President Kamala Harris plans to visit Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB) on Monday.

The office of the Vice President released a notice Thursday morning on the impending travel to the Lompoc area.

Vice President Harris plans to meet with the men and women of the United States Space Force and United States Space Command. “She will receive briefings on their work advancing our national security and will deliver remarks,” the press release states.

Previously named Vandenberg Air Force Base, VSFB is a space launch base launching spacecraft from the Western Range and also performing missile testing. The United States Space Force’s Space Launch Delta 30 serves as the host delta for the base.

In addition to its military space launch mission, VSFB also performs space launches for civil and commercial space entities, such as NASA and SpaceX.

Last week, edhat reported that VSFB was selected by the Department of the Air Force as one of six candidate locations for U.S. Space Force’s Space Training and Readiness Command Headquarters (STARCOM).

  1. Pence’s wife and her daughter did – when they came to town to go shopping. Don’t recall you having an issue then. Traffic was all tied up downtown – got stuck for 30 minutes at Rusty’s waiting for her escort to allow us through.

  2. Another politician wasting a huge amount of our tax dollars to support a huge entourage – and for what? What is she going to do, say, see that will in any way enhance our country? IMO it’s a huge waste of our tax dollars!

  3. Good to hear that she’s coming to Vandenberg, maybe since she’s on this side of the country, she can stop by the U.S. – Mexico border and get a reality check on her immigration policies. Or, if that’s too much trouble, as it seems that it has been, maybe they’ll give her a ride on a cruise missile…

  4. I certainly hope that she does not tie up traffic and buy trinkets when she’s visiting. She is well aware of the financial situation we are all facing, and recently said: “I acknowledge one must acknowledge that prices are going up, and that people are working hard and, in many cases,
are worried about whether they can get through the end of the month and make it all work.” Her statement did not make sense to me at first, but then after reading it a few times, I concluded that she knows what she’s talking about.
She’s definitely in touch with “average” (non-uber wealthy) Americans, and the effect caused by Putin’s war. If she visits the border, she’ll be condemned. If she does not visit the border, she’ll be condemned. Either way she loses, but at least she is not making things worse by “poking the hornet’s nest” as they say.

  5. This visiting the border idea must be coming from Fox News. A woman at our table yesterday said the same exact thing. We challenged her to make the connection. More Fox News soundbites. What does this have to do with her visit to VSFB? The article explains why she is coming.
