Incident: Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Location: Intersection of Pierce Steet and Tyler Avenue, Ventura
Date/Time Occurred: 6/26/2025 @ 1542 Hours
Victim: 18 year-old male
Suspect: Unknown
On 6/26/2025 at about 1542 hours, the Ventura Police Command Center received a 9-1-1 call about an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred near the intersection of Pierce Street and Tyler Avenue.
Officers contacted the victim at the hospital. They learned he was attempting to help the suspect when he was assaulted with a knife. The suspect then fled into the barranca west of Tyler Avenue. The victim sustained a laceration to his face which required extensive sutures. The attack was unprovoked, and the suspect was unknown to the victim.
Officers conducted a search of the area on foot and utilized a drone and K9 but were unable to locate the suspect. The suspect remains outstanding and is unidentified.

Updated suspect description: White male, approximately 40-50 years old, medium build, dark colored disheveled hair, unshaven black and gray beard. Suspect was wearing a green jacket and black pants.
