On September 2, 2025, at about 12:50 a.m., the Ventura Police Department received a call of a  domestic disturbance in the area of the 10700 block of Morning Glory Road. As officers were  responding, a dispatcher remained on the phone with the reporting party, who then reported  hearing gunshots in the area.

When officers arrived, they contacted a female victim of the domestic disturbance and learned she  had been battered by a male suspect, resulting in injuries. At the same time, other officers searched the surrounding neighborhood for any evidence of gunfire.

A short time later, a male victim arrived at the Ventura County Medical Center with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Officers spoke with him and learned that he had been confronted by a  suspect on a walking path along the railroad tracks, in the same general area as the domestic  battery. After a brief verbal altercation, the suspect shot the victim twice with a handgun.

Detectives are actively investigating both crimes. At this time, investigators have identified a person of interest and are still attempting to determine if the two incidents are related.  Investigators have no information to suggest that there is any danger to the public at this time.

Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to contact the Ventura Police  Department at 805-650-8010.
