Vehicle Rollover on Highway 1

A 17-year-old male was uninjured after his vehicle rolled several times over the side of Highway 1 near Jalama Road Friday morning.

At 5:24 a.m., Santa Barbara County firefighter responded to the scene on Highway 1, approximately 1.5 miles south of Jalama Road in Lompoc. Witnesses reported the vehicle rolled several times and landed on its side, about 30 feet over the roadway, said Fire Captain Dave Zaniboni.

A 17-year-old male was the sole occupant of the vehicle and he was able to extricate himself but could not make it up to the roadway. Crews used a rope system to assist the driver, who was then examined by paramedics and refused further treatment.

California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of this incident.
