Vehicle Crashes Over Highway 101 onto Railroad Tracks

A vehicle has crashed over the side of Highway 101 near Summerland and landed on the railroad tracks.

The collision took place just before 8:00 a.m. Saturday when a silver Nissan sedan went over the roadway and landed on its roof. 

California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports there are four occupants who are all out of the vehicle. A Good Samaritan stopped on the right-hand side of the road to help. 

The Montecito Fire Department is on the scene and with several emergency vehicles on the side of the road.

This morning CS firefighters responded to a vehicle that veered off the 101 and rolled down an embankment and landed next to the railroad tracks in Summerland. Firefighters quickly assessed and carried patients up the embankment with the use of a rope system. 2 of the 4 patients were transported to the hospital with moderate injuries. @montecitofire @amrsantabarbara assisted crews on scene. #rollover #prideinservice
