Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a vehicle collision that sparked a fire on Highway 101 near Goleta on Saturday evening.
At 11:49 p.m. crews arrived in the southbound lanes near Las Varas Canyon and discovered two vehicles had collided, a Subaru sedan and a pickup truck.
The Subaru caught fire off the roadway and crews were able to extinguish it before spreading to nearby vegetation.
Both vehicles had solo male drivers who were able to extricate themselves and denied ambulance transport to a nearby hospital.
Highway 101 southbound was closed temporarily.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
