I sure hope the cyclist is okay. As a cyclist I feel lucky to have escaped injury on that Blvd. Cabrillo Blvd has become a real drag of late, with so many people so many cars not enough traffic speed enforcement by far. Two days ago I watched no less than five vehicle drivers zoom along through that crosswalk at Cabrillo & Bath while the yellow lights were flashing and pedestrians were waiting to cross. Every driver had plenty of warning time to stop, but they all just zipped on by. Shameful. SBPD needs to post officers down on Cabrillo and start handing out citations right and left.
Officers might patrol Cabrillo but they have to be in the right place at the right time to catch the obvious law breakers. Can’t be everywhere at once.
