A collision between a passenger vehicle and a motorcyclist sent two people to the hospital Tuesday night and closed a portion of West Cabrillo Boulevard for several hours, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:18 p.m. on June 16, 2026, in the 200 block of West Cabrillo Boulevard. The Santa Barbara Police Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting the incident.
Santa Barbara Police officers and medical personnel responded to the scene and attended to both motorists, who were transported to Cottage Hospital for further medical treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been released.
The 200 block of West Cabrillo Boulevard was temporarily closed to allow police to conduct a traffic investigation. SBPD issued a traffic alert at 10:30 p.m. advising motorists to avoid the area.
The roadway was reopened at approximately 1:30 a.m. Wednesday following the conclusion of the on-scene investigation.
Police said it is unknown at this time whether either driver was impaired at the time of the accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
