Vegetation Fire Burns Nearly 2 Acres in Solvang

Firefighters responded to a vegetation fire in Solvang Wednesday morning that burned approximately 1.59 acres before crews brought it under control.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department reported the incident at 10:46 a.m. on June 17, 2026, in the 1600 block of Mission Drive.

According to the WatchDuty app, the fire was initially burning in light fuel and moving uphill, away from residential homes.

Authorities advised motorists and members of the public to avoid the area to ensure the safety of fire personnel and the community during active firefighting operations.

By 1:15 p.m., a number of fire units had been released back into service, indicating the fire had likely been contained.

There have been no reports of injuries or damage to structures. The cause of the fire has not been released.
