Validation Ale Opens Seasonal Pop-Up at The Shop, Targets Santa Barbara Bowl Crowds

Validation Ale has announced a new summer pop-up, the Annex @ the Shop on Milpas Street in Santa Barbara.

The venue will operate as a pop-up with hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. or later. It will also be open on nights when Santa Barbara Bowl shows are scheduled.

The menu features a rotating selection of beers and seltzers on tap, along with cocktails developed in collaboration with Novel Cocktail Co. Wine options, including rosé, are also available, according to the company’s website. Food offerings include a mix of casual and hearty items, such as a Philly cheesesteak sandwich and Caesar salad, as well as comfort foods like crispy fries, wings, and loaded tots.

Additionally, the menu also includes burgers, tacos, and fresh bowls, with house-made sauces and a variety of choices such as chicken, tri-tip, salmon, and vegetarian options. Brunch-style items are also part of the offerings.

The Annex aligns its schedule with major events at the Santa Barbara Bowl, creating a pre-show and post-show stop for watchers. Guests can arrive early for food and drinks before concerts or return afterward for a more relaxed setting.

Validation Ale operates as a local, family-owned business and its headquarters, located in the Funk Zone. It combines a craft beer brewery and artisan distillery with an open space designed for social interaction, and also hosts live music, comedy, and trivia events, building a steady lineup of community-focused activities.

According to its website, the spaces are designed with a modern, industrial style and are intended to be family-friendly. Ordering is supported through on-table QR codes, allowing guests to browse menus, place orders, and pay at their convenience.

The Milpas Annex adds to Validation Ale’s growing footprint in Santa Barbara. Besides Milpas Street the brand operates at two other locations as well East Yanonali Street, and another Annex site operates on De La Vina Street.
